AI-generated art notice
As of September 2023, Amazon KDP is requiring authors to disclose whether any part of their work has been generated with the aid or by AI software. I do not use AI generated materials in my book cover design projects, whether illustrated or photography-based. All materials used in the process of book cover design are either:
1. purchased with a license from Depositphotos.com* (photography) or
2. are illustrated or hand drawn digitally by me.
*Please note that there may be situations where purchased stock images may be AI generated and not labled as such.
Custom book cover design
Photography-based cover design
Uses stock images as well as digital painting to create the desired concept. A typical romance book cover design can use as many as 20 different images. Based on photography manipulation, this technique is one of the most requested to date.
Illustrated cover design
Frequently used in the romance genre and its sub-genres, illustrated artwork is usually created by drawing specific scenes digitally, either in vector or raster format.
My tool of choice for creating custom artwork is an Apple iPad Pro and Procreate. For vector art I use Adobe Illustrator and a Wacom Cintique graphic tablet.
Custom author logo design
A unique, custom made logo will boost your presence and help readers identify you with ease. Your professional logo should be an extension of your style and quirks whether you’d like a text based logo (a wordmark), a lettermark or a pictorial mark. It’s a necessary addition to building your brand and enhances your online and offline presence.
Marketing materials
Marketing materials such as custom Facebook and Twitter headers and Instagram posts and stories help you promote your book in a consistent style throughout the social network.
Cover design consultation/analysis
